Did you know preeclampsia affects approximately 1 in 20 pregnancies? Join us on Feb. 15 as Maternal-Fetal Medicine Specialist Mark Santillan, MD, PhD, answers your questions about this common pregnancy complication on Facebook Live.

Preeclampsia is a high blood pressure disorder that occurs after 20 weeks of pregnancy and can cause a number of complications, including problems with the kidneys and other organs. In some extreme cases, preeclampsia can result in seizures, multi-organ failure, and even death. Unfortunately, current prevention of preeclampsia is not perfect, so understanding the signs and symptoms is key to help ensure the best possible outcome.

During an interactive Facebook Live event, Mark Santillan, MD, PhD, a maternal-fetal medicine specialist at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, will answer your questions and discuss the following topics related to preeclampsia:

- Risk factors and symptoms of preeclampsia - Long-term impacts of preeclampsia - Latest research about preeclampsia, including studies at the University of Iowa
